What is the Pleinotheek? 

The Pleinotheek is a combination of: neighbourhood toy library, kiosk, vending machine, exhibition, book exchange library, information point and meeting place. The blue-green building is located on Berlijnplein and is open to visitors from April to September. Our Pleinotheek manager runs the Pleinotheek together with a team of friendly volunteers. But we can always use extra help. Are you the host we are looking for?

Job description

At the Pleinotheek neighbourhood lending library, we have a variety of fun toys that everyone is welcome to use. But toys that are played with sometimes break. That's why we're looking for a handy handyman who has time to repair the items. This could include reinforcing a cornhole game with a broken bar, securing laser guns with missing screws, or rehanging a shelf in the Pleinotheek so that it is straight and sturdy.

What can you expect?  

• In consultation with the Pleinotheek manager, it will be determined what can be repaired and/or what may need to be replaced. 

• You decide when you want to do the repairs in consultation with the manager.  

• RAUM has the tools you need for this. 

• Free access to RAUM's paid programme.

What we expect from you

• In consultation, a few hours once or twice a month for small jobs

• Experience with repairing items

• Experience with hand tools

• A high degree of independence

• Even if you are learning Dutch or speak a little, you are welcome. (You don't have to be fluent, as long as we can understand each other.)
