What is Common Ground Two
Common Ground Two is a vegetable garden project for and with refugees in our city, started in 2017. At Common Ground Two, people with a refugee background and volunteers work together to maintain the garden. It does not matter whether participants still live in the asylum seekers' centre or already have their own home. We work as a team and also organise small extra activities in and around the garden.
JOB VACANCY
Vegetable garden volunteer
March - December
Job description
Would you like to learn how to garden, enjoy doing it together with neighbours and share in the harvest? You are welcome to join us on Wednesdays from 11:00 to 14:00. No experience is necessary.
Of course, there is coffee or tea for everyone during the breaks. And we share the harvest with the members of the vegetable garden.
The gardening work varies from weeding, watering, sowing, planting and harvesting to digging and small technical jobs. Experience in gardening is not necessary, because you can learn everything. And we learn from each other. There is something for everyone to do.
Still unsure? You can also just come and have a look and join in, for example on 11 or 18 March. You are very welcome to come and try it out!

What can you expect from Common Ground?
- Gardening tools
- Coffee and tea breaks
- A share of the harvest
What does Common Ground expect from you?
- You are (partially) available from March to December
- You are not afraid to get your hands dirty
- You have strong communication skills and enjoy working with people
- You are curious and enthusiastic
- Even if you are learning Dutch or speak a little, you are welcome.
